Frauenkirche Munich: Visit of the South Tower

The Frauenkirche in the heart of the old town is Munich's landmark. The two twin towers with their typical domes can be seen from afar. Enjoy an incomparable view over the city from the south tower.

The observation deck of the Frauenkirche in Munich

When the newly built Frauenkirche opened its doors to the congregation at the end of the 15th century, Munich did not even have enough inhabitants to fill the huge brick church. Today, of course, things are different. The Cathedral is still a place where the faithful gather to pray and worship together, and is also the city's landmark.

Ascent in the Frauenkirche via spiral staircase and lift

You reach the observation deck of the south tower, which is protected against wind and weather, via 89 steps and a ride in the lift. The climb is rewarded by a 360-degree panoramic view. Depending on the weather, the view stretches far beyond Munich to the Alps.
